This weekend we attended the "Family Matters" conference in the Diocese of Hamilton. We had a great time on our stay-cation - the boys played (and sobbed and shrieked) with the lovely young people from the CYO camp while Mom and Dad listened to presentations on family life. And we got the chance to meet the artist behind the book Ben has there - Bro. Mickey O'Neill McGrath! We'd almost forgotten how much fun the Oblates are until we attended his workshop. It was a blast to hear the stories behind the artwork we enjoy...a nice mix of Salesian humor and faith. For added fun, we learned that he taught at DeSales University (when it was Allentown College), is a Father Judge alum, and will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 Diocesan Gathering in Albany, NY next week.
