Stay-cation

It's a long day when you're up at dawn, go to Mass, do some grocery shopping, and then head home - before 10am :)  The watermelon made a nice pillow for Chris.

Trainer bunkbed?  Or filing system for small children?

We went hiking this weekend.  Ben wasn't very impressed with the uphill portion back to the car.

But he still had a good time.

It was a little much for Chris too.  But he liked seeing all the dogs that were having their walks on the trail.

Who doesn't love a good mess... I mean painting :)

A little more cautious with his paints.  And still begging to paint again today.

Messy Fun

One of our neighbors bought cookies for the boys as a treat.

Some of the best of boyhood - vehicles in the dirt.

They even managed to find some fun while Mom was shopping.

Acrobatics after Mass.

The carousel actually distracted the boys from what we were there for - ice cream!  I know, it's unbelievable.

No childhood is complete without at least one appliance box.

Mmmm, corn for dinner.

No, it wasn't that cold but he was that tired.  No, he didn't nap in there.  But it makes a cute picture.

Almost always in motion, hence the blur.  But contemplating so much and using big words like "also" - "I would like a snack also."

This is my favorite picture of the week.  He insisted on wearing the cape and the only place to hang it was from his diaper.

Making hamburgers for dinner.

Both boys slept through the night one night (the same night) this week.  But they haven't napped since.  Or slept through the night.  And it's taking a toll.  Chris has entered that wonderful stage of pitching fabulous fits, often including throwing himself to the floor.  Oh, joy.  But they're so cute when they sleep ;-)
