Doing so much!

Every day I sit back and am amazed at how grown up the boys are getting to be.  Ben was helping make cookie dough and stopped mixing and dumping to... wash the dishes!  Well, he mostly just poured water back and forth and rubbed the sponge here and there so we have a lot of work to do on his technique.  But it makes a mama very happy :)

Chris, at almost 2 years old, is doing incredible things.  He cut his second to last 2 year molar this week and we are thankful that misery is almost over.  He has also taught himself to do a forward roll.

He can also count to two.  As in, seeing trucks on the street and announcing "2 trucks mommy."  And his favorite thing in the whole world are dump trucks.  Of course being nearly 2 he can't say dump truck - in typical toddler fashion he substitutes a "b" for the "p" and "f" for the "tr" making it just lovely when yelled out while we're walking.  Oh well, this too shall pass.

Ben's favorite song right now goes a little something like this:
"we all live in a yellow sub-a-rene
yellow sub-a-rene
yellow sub-a-rene."

In addition to starting in the wonderful world of dishes, he is also the chief sock turner-right-side-outer and matcher-upper on laundry days.

We have also discovered that we are leaving every parent's favorite age where we can order one burger for the boys to split when we are eating out.  Ben has taken to finishing his half, whatever Mom will give up, whatever Chris doesn't finish, and sometimes this still isn't enough.  We're a little sad.  And will probably not be eating burgers nearly as often as we did (which was only occasionally anyway.)

We're also working on teaching the boys that when asked "who's stinky?" it is never appropriate to answer with a smirk and say "mommy."

Simple things

With little ones there are infinite possibilities for the simplest things.  :)
But when you see a good idea it's cool to run with it.

And what's not to love about those faces?

Getting so big!

This is actually from last week but it was too nice a shot not to share.
They were giving away red Jays tshirts in honor of Canada Day and we commented that that was nice for the Phillies - they would feel at home with all that red in the stands :)

A totally awesome fort.

Peek-a-boo.

 Building tall towers.
In case you're concerned, that mark on Ben's ribs is not a scar, birthmark, or boo-boo.  It's just dry erase marker.

It's incredable how easily an Oreo will come apart in an apartment that is 85*... and that it appears to be a totally natural reflex to then lick the cream :)

And now they must be again put to bed.  Ben has wandered down the hall probably 6 times already and Chris is standing in his crib holding the stuffed cat saying "woof, woof, woof, woof."  Then Ben shouts "go to sleep! It's night time!"  It might be a long evening.  It's always a toss up - no nap and major crabby pants with a 50/50 chance of an easy bedtime or a decent nap and a 99% chance of a long and drawn out bedtime.  This is one of the latter...  So it goes.

Take me out to the ball game!

On the train to Toronto to see the Phillies play the Jays to celebrate Daddy's birthday.

It was a long, long day but a good adventure.

 Enjoying the ballpark :)

This face is just too funny - they both make it and hold it really well.  Until you make it back at them and then they can't keep the smile out :)
