Pizza on the brain

Eating snack at the kitchen counter. Notice the "pizza" Chris made - it's a slice of bologna with halved grapes on top :)

Ben is working on dropping his nap and it's exhausting (and not just for him!) Friday night he fell asleep at the dinner table at 5 and slept till 6:30 the next morning! (And no, no pizza was involved.)

Ben enjoying his free birthday pizza with Dad while Chris was napping.

And the next day Chris helped make pizza while Ben was napping.

Only quiet in pictures

When they're not trying to knock each other down or swipe toys they can be really quite sweet.

Baking with Mama.

Yummy Thomas and Friends because who doesn't love sugar covered trains.

It's a messy job but someone's got to do it :)

Every child's favorite, timeless toy - ye olde empty box big enough to climb in.

B is for BIRTHDAY BIG BOY BEN!

Hard to imagine he was this tiny (at his baptism.)

And now just look at him! Growing into quite the handsome young man, if we do say so ourselves.

We got a bunch of snow so some neighbors built this huge snowman outside our building. By the time we got this photo he had lost his potato eyes and celery mouth... carrot nose was still hanging in there.

Chris loves ketchup... and eggs. But mostly only as a means for eating more ketchup.

For Ben's birthday today we went to the bookstore to play with the Thomas track.

Ben (who is working on dropping his nap, much to Mama's dismay) fell asleep on the walk there and missed all the playing.

Ben's choice for his special dinner was McDonald's. The boys very much enjoyed this.

Very serious about getting some soda.

Not so sure about those candles on his birthday cookie though.

But pretty serious about sneaking up to get more later.

It worked out that Ben missed train play earlier - he got a Thomas play set for his birthday :) And notice Chris is already learning to guard his toys.
In other Ben news -he earned his Buzz! The deal was pee on the potty and get Buzz and Woody. Tuesday afternoon he announced that was wanted to pee on the potty :) We've had some ups and downs with the rest of the week but that's to be expected. And once he spends a whole day in big boy undies he'll earn Woody :)

Super Sunday

A little early morning reading. Not as early as a few weeks ago but still long before the sun comes up. Like long enough to watch a movie, make muffins, eat them, and wash the dishes all in the dark.
We had heard that there were children who would just lay down and go to sleep when they were tired - we really believed it was a myth... until this week!

Mom's finished quilt has been a fun addition to playtime.

It's amazing he still fits into the sink!
